The Porsche 718 GTS offers an exciting blend of
performance and handling but drivers looking to get the most of the car will
want to hold off for the new 718 Cayman GT4. The
Cayman GT4 is distinguished by an aggressive front fascia and a small vent
beneath the hood. The sporty styling continues further back as the model has
lightweight wheels and a high-performance braking system with cross-drilled
rotors and red brake calipers. The model also features a fixed rear wing, an
aggressive diffuser, and a dual exhaust system.
Carscoops spy shooters couldn’t get close enough to snap
interior photos but the previous Cayman GT4 was equipped with a sports steering
wheel, leather / Alcantara sport seats, and lightweight pull straps on the
doors.
While the previous model featured a 3.8-liter
flat-six engine derived from the 911 Carrera S, the all-new model will
reportedly have a detuned version of the 4.0-liter flat-six that resides in the
911 GT3. In the latter model, it produces 500 PS and 460 Nm of torque.
The engine is expected to produce at least 400 PS in the Cayman GT4 and that would give it an edge over the Cayman GTS
which has a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine developing 365 PS and up to 430 Nm of torque. Regardless of the final rating, the
model is expected to be offered with a manual transmission and an optional PDK
gearbox.
