BMW has confirmed that its new all-electric sedan,
the i4, will have a range of up to 700 km. Speaking at BMW’s annual
financial results conference, company chief executive Harald Kruger said the
iNext, which is set to launch in 2021, will feature a similar range.
Until the Geneva Motor Show, it was widely assumed
that an i5 sedan was in the works. However, the company confirmed at the show
that its all-electric sedan will instead be dubbed the i4 and was previewed by
the i Vision Dynamics concept from the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.
At the time, that concept was confirmed with a range
of 600 km and would accelerate from 0-100 km/h in four
seconds and top out at 200 km/h (120 mph). It is reasonable to assume that similar
performance figures will be on offer for the road-going i4.
