Alfa Romeo has
unveiled the new Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio Nürburgring
Editions at the Geneva Motor Show.
Dubbed the NRING Editions, the models are dressed in
exclusive Circuito Grey paint which is echoed by their dark wheels that cover a
carbon-ceramic braking system. The dark theme continues elsewhere as designers
installed carbon fiber mirror caps as well as a carbon fiber grille insert.
The interior largely carries over but there are a
handful of special touches which separate the NRING Editions from lesser
variants. Highlights include a leather and Alcantara wrapped steering wheel
with carbon fiber accents as well as carbon fiber shelled Sparco racing seats
with red contrast stitching.
Drivers will also find an individually numbered
plaque, a Harman Kardon premium audio system and an 8.8-inch infotainment
system with GPS navigation as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
compatibility.
Like the standard models, the NRING Editions are
equipped with a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 engine that produces 510 PS and 600 Nm of torque. It enables the all-wheel drive Stelvio
Quadrifoglio to rocket from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds before topping
out at 283 km/h.
The Giulia Quadrifoglio is a tad slower as the dash
from 0-100 km/h takes 3.9 seconds but it has a higher top speed of
307 km/h.
While the models don’t hold the overall Nürburgring
lap record, the Giulia Quadrifoglio lapped the famed course in 7 minutes and 32
seconds to become the fastest four-door sedan on the Green Hell. Approximately
one year later, the Stelvio Quadrifoglio completed the same task in 7 minutes
and 51.7 seconds to claim a new record for crossovers and SUVs.
Production will be limited to 108 units a piece as
“one for each year of the history of Alfa Romeo.”
