Unveiled last November, the new Vantage will be the
centerpiece of Aston Martin’s stand at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. Marking
its first public appearance at a motoring event, the Vantage rides on an reworked
version of the DB11’s platform and uses an AMG-provided powertrain.
Naught to 100 km/h takes 3.6 seconds and
top speed stands at 313 km/h, courtesy of the 4.0-liter V8 engine that
churns out 510 PS and 685 Nm of torque. The V8 is matted to an
eight-speed automatic transmission, but a manual gearbox will be offered soon
as an optional extra.
Both derivatives of the new DB11, namely the
V8-powered Coupe and Volante, will sit together for the first time at the Palexpo
Exhibition Center. The open-top can be had from US$ 216,495 in the USA, where the
V8 Coupe undercuts it by US$ 17,500.
Aston Martin’s new Vantage GTE will be on display in
Geneva as well, ready for the World Endurance Championship (WEC). The race car
is in its final stages of development and will make its racing debut at the 6
Hours of Spa-Francorchamps in May. It will also be put through its paces during
the challenging 24 Hours of Le Mans in June as well.
Dressed in its official livery, the Aston Martin Red
Bull Racing F1 will also be showcased at the event before competing in the 2018
FIA Formula One World Championship that kicks off on March 25 in Melbourne.
