Naza Kia Malaysia has announced the introduction of a Sportage 2.0L EX variant, which goes on sale alongside the Sportage 2.0L GT CRDi diesel AWD. The two two wheel-drive variants that introduced the fourth-gen QL in Malaysia back in 2016, the 2.0L KX and 2.0L GT Line, have been discontinued.

No change to the petrol powertrain, the Sportage 2.0L EX being equipped with a 2.0 litre Nu MPI four-cylinder, which is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Output figures remain the same, with 155 PS at 6,200 rpm and 192 Nm at 4,000 rpm available from the mill.

The 2.0L EX gets a new design five twin-spoke 18-inch machine-finished alloy wheels, and standard equipment for the five-seat SUV includes front and rear parking sensors, a rain sensor and auto folding side mirrors.

Also on, keyless entry, push start ignition and fully automatic air-conditioning, and the variant also comes with an electrochromic auto dimming rear view mirror and a new seven-inch touchscreen audio system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support.

As with the previous petrol models, the EX comes equipped with six airbags (dual front, side and curtain), ABS, ESC, vehicle stability control and hill-start assist and Isofix mount points (outer rear seats) on the safety kit front.

Five exterior colours are available for the variant and these are Cherry Black, Mercury Blue, Fiery Red, Snow White Pearl and Mineral Silver. The Kia Sportage 2.0L EX is priced at RM 129,888, and comes with a five-year, unlimited mileage warranty.
