Appearing alongside the new passenger van at the Geneva
Motor Show will be the Peugeot Rifter 4×4 Concept. The name pretty much
tells you what this show van is about, it’s a Rifter, with four-wheel drive,
and it’s a concept.
Designed to venture off the beaten path, the Peugeot
Rifter 4×4 Concept is jacked up by three inches and rides on knobbier
all-terrain tires. It also packs an Overland tent on the roof, a hundred LEDs
for 300 watts of auxiliary illumination, even an electric mountain bike in the
back.
To make it stand out even further, the French
automaker decked it out in a sparkly grey finish with black and yellow trim.
The theme continues inside with grey fabric, black Alcantara, yellow neoprene
trim, a leather steering wheel, and smoked chrome accents.
Power comes from a 1.5-liter diesel, sending 129
horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque through a six-speed manual transmission to
all four of those BF Goodrich boots.
It’s based on the Lion marque’s version of the new
passenger van. The Rifter replaces the previous Partner Tepee, and will also be
sold as the Opel Combi Life and Citroën Berlingo Multispace.
