Renault has recently started testing prototypes of
their facelifted Kadjar crossover and, judging by the camouflage, the new car
should feature fresh front and rear styling.
We expect to see updated front and rear bumpers, a slightly
bigger grille and, quite possibly, restyled headlights and taillights. The new
front bumper should contribute to the Kadjar looking more aggressive than
before thanks to larger air intakes.
If you look close, you’ll notice that the dashboard
is covered up, too, which indicates that Renault might revamp the cabin as
well, probably with an updated infotainment system featuring a larger display.
Meanwhile, more advanced active safety systems should also make the list of
improvements over its predecessor.
Unless Renault is planning on updating the engine
range as well, the facelifted Kadjar should continue to use the automaker’s TCe
petrol and dCi diesel units, mated to either a manual or an X-Tronic CVT
automatic gearbox.
The facelifted Kadjar should hit Renault dealerships
sometime later this year, and the French automaker hopes that its updates will
keep it competitive in the highly contested compact SUV segment against the
likes of the Nissan Qashqai, Hyundai Tucson and Peugeot 3008.
