Autocar India has shared spy shots of the production
version of the Tata H5X that reveal the interior of the upcoming Tata SUV for
the first time. The Tata H5X concept broke cover at the Auto Expo on February
7, 2018. It is reportedly slated to go on sale in early 2019.
One of the images reveals a partially camouflaged
centre console. It appears to have a Nexon like floating touchscreen with the
AC vents and aircon controls placed under it. The steering wheel design appears
to be similar to the one currently seen on all new Tata products.
As evident
from the marking on the gear lever, this mule has a 6-speed manual
transmission. Other images reveal the front and rear seats finished in a shade
of brown. The H5X appears to be a 5-seater. The metal door frames reveal that
the car is finished in white.
Accompanying the spy pictures of the interior are a
few images of the exterior of the Tata H5X. The heavy camouflage and
pre-production lights do not reveal anything apart from the overall silhouette
of the SUV.
It has been styled based on the Impact Design 2.0
philosophy. Pratap Bose, Head of Design, Tata Motors, has said that 80-85% of
the Tata H5X concept will make it into production. The SUV uses a reworked
version of the Land Rover Discovery Sport platform. Engines will be supplied by
Fiat – 2.0 L Multijet II diesel – reportedly in multiple states of tune.
