The Toyota Supra racing concept has been caught on
video while being loaded onto its display at the Geneva Motor Show. While most
of the car is covered by a sheet, we can get a glimpse of the concept’s front
fascia and lower passenger side. This doesn’t reveal much but the front of the
concept appears to be pretty faithful to the production model which was spotted
undergoing testing yesterday.
Despite the styling similarities, the modern racing
concept – as Toyota calls it – has a carbon fiber front lip spoiler and large
canards on the front bumper. We can also see lightweight center-locking wheels
which are outfitted with high-performance Michelin tires.
We can’t make out many other details but the concept
has aggressive side skirts, a multi-color livery and a massive rear wing. Another interesting detail is the fact that the
concept is located next to a Toyota Gazoo Racing Hilux.
There have been rumors
the Supra will be launched under the Gazoo brand but it remained unclear if the
production model would be called the Gazoo Supra, Toyota Supra Gazoo or
something else to that effect. The car’s official name still remains a mystery
but its presence next the truck could indicate the model will indeed have a
connection to Gazoo Racing even though BMW deserves much of the credit.
The car will be unveiled on March 6th so stay tuned
for full details.
