Volkswagen kicked off the teasing game of the new
Vizzion Concept last week, when they dropped the first details and official
sketches of the electric sedan. A few days later, the German automaker
previewed its lounge-like interior, which lacks a traditional steering wheel,
pedals, dials, and so on, as it’s fully autonomous. Now, we get to see its
headlight, for the first time.
The short video reveals plenty of LEDs at the front,
along with two strips of lights that join the headlamps together, going around
the symbolic grille. It also appears to have muscular creases in the front
bumper, wide wheel arches, and large blacked-out wheels.
Volkswagen hasn’t divulged anything else about it,
except that it’s part of their “future of mobility”. Nevertheless, in addition
to the self-driving tech mentioned above, we know that it features an electric
powertrain. It combines two motors that work together to push 306 PS to
both axles, allowing the Vizzion to reach a top speed of 180 km/h. More impressively, thanks to a very large
111kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the show car has a claimed driving range of up
to 665 km on a single charge.
Volkswagen hasn’t announced other premieres for the
2018 Geneva Motor Show, where the Vizzion Concept will sit under the spotlight,
but they will have other cars on display too.
