Volkswagen has announced a limited-edition ‘VW Polo Pace’ in India. The limited-edition model arrives just days after the new 1.0L MPI petrol engine replaced the 1.2L MPI petrol engine in the VW Polo range. VW is offering the Polo Pace at no “additional cost to customers”. Which means it is priced at INR 6,10,700 – INR 6,20,700 (ex-showroom Delhi), the same as the regular Comfortline grade.

The VW Polo Pace doesn’t differ much from the regular VW Polo. Its only special feature is the 15-inch “Razor” diamond-cut alloy wheels, although they aren’t unique. They were introduced in the VW Polo Anniversary Edition in September 2017, and this special edition model is still on sale.

The VW Polo Pace is available with only the new 1.0-litre MPI petrol engine. The naturally aspirated three-cylinder engine develops 76 PS at 6,200 rpm and 95 Nm of torque at 3,000-4,300 rpm. A 5-speed manual transmission sends power to the front wheels. There’s no option for an automatic transmission. The fuel economy is presumably the same as that of the regular VW Polo 1.0L MPI – 18.78 km/l.

Volkswagen offers the VW Polo Pace exclusively in the Comfortline grade. This means that the main equipment, in addition to the aforementioned alloy wheels that replace 15-inch steel wheels, includes front fog lamps, electrically adjustable ORVMs, rear defogger, back glass washer and wiper, ambient lights with theatre dimming effect, glovebox cooling, power windows (front & rear) with remote opening and closing functions and CD player with Bluetooth.
