The 2018 BMW X3 is now available in India, with prices starting at INR 49.99 lakh*. BMW offers the third generation of its mid-size SAV exclusively in a diesel engine model, but a petrol engine will follow later this year.

The 2018 BMW X3 is available in two grades, Expedition and Luxury Line. The Expedition grade is equipped with features like LED headlights, panoramic glass roof, 3-zone automatic climate control, sport leather steering wheel, electrically adjustable front seats with memory function for driver, iDrive with 6.5-inch colour central display, parking sensors (front and rear) and rear-view camera.


The Luxury Line grade adds premium features like adaptive LED headlights including accent lighting with turn indicators and hexagonally shaped LED DRLs, LED tail lights, LED fog lights, BMW Display Key, Navigation System Professional infotainment system with 10.25-inch touchscreen, 3D maps and Apple CarPlay, iDrive Touch with handwriting recognition and 12.3-inch virtual instrument cluster.

The grades are distinguished with different wheel designs, interior trims and upholstery. The Expedition grade gets 18-inch turbine style 689 alloy wheels, black high gloss interior trim with Pearl Chrome highlights and Canberra Beige/Black or Black/Black leatherette upholstery. The Luxury Line grade stands out with 19-inch double-spoke style 696 alloy wheels, fine-wood interior trim poplar grain with Pearl Chrome highlights and Vernasca Canberra Beige or Vernasca Mocha black leather upholstery with decor stitching. Moreover, it features Sensatec instrument panel as well.


BMW offers the third-gen BMW X3 exclusively in the xDrive20d engine model. This means that it packs the BMW TwinPower Turbo 2.0-litre diesel engine that develops 190 hp at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque at 1,750-2,500 rpm. The 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission and the xDrive AWD system are standard. Three drive modes are available: EcoPro, Comfort and Sport. Paddle shifters, Dynamic Damper Control and Performance Control torque vectoring system are exclusive to the Luxury Line grade.

For enhanced aerodynamics and higher efficiency, BMW offers the Active Air Stream Kidney Grille and an automatic start-stop function as standard. The fuel economy is rated at 16.04 km/l. The 2018 BMW X3 is now available at all of the 45 BMW dealerships in the country. BMW offers four exterior colour options across the range: Mineral White, Sophisto Grey, Black Sapphire and Phytonic Blue.
