Subaru has announced pricing and specs for the 2018
Outback, with UK buyers now able to purchase an SE spec model for £ 29,995,
while the better-equipped SE Premium starts from £ 33,010. Changes to the 2018
Outback include the redesigned grille, bumper door mirrors and headlights, a
new front view camera, Steering Responsive Headlights and the inclusion of Lane
Keep Assist (64 km/h or above) to the EyeSight driver assistance safety
technology suite.
The previously mentioned tech suite also holds
Adaptive Cruise Control, Lead Vehicle Start Alert, Lane Sway and Departure
Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Pre-collision Braking System and Pre-collision
Throttle Management. There’s also an additional side view camera mounted at the
base of the passenger door mirror. It works by helping drivers navigate for
easily through narrow spaces.
Inside, there are new decorative gloss black panels
and silver surrounds, and a larger touchscreen display (from 7 to 8-inches) for
the SE Premium models. The entry-level SE trim makes do with an updated
6.5-inch touchscreen and fabric seating trim with heated front seats.
Powering the 2018 Subaru Outback is a 2.5-liter
naturally aspirated petrol unit, producing 175 PS and 235 Nm of
torque, while returning 38.7 mpg (7.3 l/100km) on a combined cycle and emitting
166g/km of CO2.
Altogether, pricing for the 2018 Outback is the same
as it was for the outgoing model.
