In contrast to the competition from the “German Troika”, in
Munich decided to create electrophoretic based on an existing production model:
BMW new iX3 is a modification of the current “x-third” on the CLAR platform.
The development of crossover is carried out in the
framework of the global strategy of the concern for the introduction of
electric propulsion the so-called fifth generation. Serial iX3 BMW will appear
in 2020 and will be the first model with this technology, and then leaves the
car under the symbol iNext, a prototype of which was from a concept i Vision
Dynamics. To refer to electrified models in the BMW has already registered a
number of indices from i1 to i9 and from iX1 from iX9 (for crossovers).
It is
equipped with a motor capacity of 270 HP and the traction battery with a
capacity of around 70 kWh, which should be enough for 400 km on the WLTP cycle.
Of the charging station with a power of 150 kW the battery can be recharged
almost fully in half an hour.
The most characteristic feature of the electric
version of the “x-third” fused “nostril” grille on the front, which now
represent a plastic cover with a stylized lattice pattern. Apparently, this
design will get all-electric BMW. Also, there are other bumpers and wheels, and
the additional charging connector is located in left front fender, although he
survived the hatch above the rear wheel. The interior is hidden from the eyes
behind tinted glasses.
Release iX3 BMW begin in China factory, joint
venture BMW Brilliance in Shenyang, where just recently in the pipeline got a
regular X3 new generation. Other production sites has not yet been announced,
though BMW X3 for other markets in the world are produced in the United States.
It is possible that elektroversiya will be released only in China.
