With only five days to go until the unveiling of the
new Brabham BT62, scheduled for May 2 in London, the company has opened its
order books for the race-inspired supercar. Priced from £ 1 million (US$ 1,395,040)
before local taxes and without any optional extras, the exotic model will be
limited to just 70 units. The number is a reference to 1948, when Sir Jack
Brabham made his competition debut.
To celebrate the announcement, Brabham has dropped
yet another teaser of the BT62. The image reveals the logo strapped on to its
nose, and follows a previous teaser released last week, which gave us a first
look into the mean-styled rear end, boasting a gigantic wing and T-shaped LED
taillights.
Tipping the scale at 972 kg dry, the BT62
can deliver more than 1,200 kg of downforce. It’s powered by a
naturally aspirated 5.4-liter V8 engine whose specs remain unknown, but the
automaker states that it has a power-to-weight ratio of 730 PS /
1,000 kg.
