The Lamborghini Aventador SV Jota has been scooped
while undergoing testing in Europe. Despite being dressed in swirly camouflage,
there’s no mistaking this for an ordinary Aventador as the high-performance
model has been equipped with a new front bumper, aerodynamic side skirts and
lightweight wheels that are similar to the ones used on the Aventador LP750-4
Superveloce. Moving further back, we can see large side scoops and a distinctive
rear wing. The model also has a massive diffuser and a ventilated rear fascia
which has two exhaust tips jetting out the back.
Lamborghini has been tight-lipped about the model
but previous reports have suggested the car could use the Aerodinamica
Lamborghini Attiva system that is found on the Huracán Performante. The system
adjusts the car’s aerodynamics to either maximize drag for increased stability
or reduce drag for faster acceleration.
While Lamborghini is keeping details under wraps,
the model is expected to use a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine. The
exact performance rating remains unclear but reports have suggested the Jota
could have around 800 PS. This seems well within the realm of
possibility as the Aventador SV Coupe had 750 PS and 690 Nm of torque. This enabled the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.8
seconds and onto a top speed in excess of 350 km/h.
The Aventador SV Jota is expected to be unveiled
later this year and it could make an appearance at the Paris Motor Show in
October. Production will likely be extremely limited and it wouldn’t be
surprising if the entire production run has already been sold out.
