The unique Lamborghini Huracan RWD gifted to Pope
Francis last year will be auctioned without a reserve at RM Sotheby’s Monaco
sale on May 12.
This Huracan is the product of Lamborghini’s Ad
Personam program and sports a Bianco Monocerus paint with Giallo Tiberino
stripes and accents as a tribute to the flag of Vatican City.
Additionally, the Pope’s unique set of wheels are
painted in black and silver and complement the Nero brake calipers. Completing
the Huracan’s eye-catching exterior is the signature of Pope Francis on the
hood.
Take a step inside and you’ll find Bianco Leda
Sportivo leather and Lamborghini crests on the headrests. Since being presented
to the Pope roughly six months ago, the car has been kept in storage and could
prove a unique addition to any Lamborghini collection.
All the process from the sale will be delivered
directly to the Pope. He will then give 70 per cent to the Iraqi city of
Nineveh, which was besieged by ISIS, 10 per cent to Amici per il Centrafrica
Onlus, 10 per cent to Groupe International Chirurgiens Amis de la Main and 10
per cent to the Pope John XXIII Community Association.
Pre-auction estimates suggest the car will sell for
between € 250,000 and € 350,000 (US$ 303,000 – 425,000). We presume there’ll be no
shortage of interested buyers, plus it’s all for a good cause.
