McLaren has announced the debut of a limited-run
570GT at the 2018 Beijing Auto Show, which starts tomorrow. The Sports
Series model uses “traditional Chinese craftsmanship”, as per the company based
in Goodwood, and “hand-crafted panels from a traditional Chinese embroidery
master”. In addition to the 570GT limited edition, McLaren will also celebrate
the local debut of the Senna.
The track-focused hypercar, which is faster on some
circuits than the hybrid P1, uses a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, derived from the
automaker’s 3.8-liter unit. The powertrain develops 800 PS and
800 Nm of torque, allowing the Senna to cover the 0-100 km/h sprint in 2.8sec. The 200 km/h mark is hit in 6.8sec, the standing
quarter mile is completed in 9.9 seconds and top speed is 340 km/h.
McLaren’s presence in China will be defined by the
570S Spider, too. The latest addition into the Sports Series range will go on
sale in the People’s Republic soon, and will be joined by the impressive 720S.
This supercar has 720 PS and 770 Nm of torque on tap, and has already proved its credentials against
some of the fastest cars in the world on the drag strip.
