Nissan has revealed the new Navara AT32 at the
Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, UK, a jacked-up version of the popular pickup
truck developed in conjunction with Arctic Trucks.
As with every truck subjected to the Arctic Trucks
treatment, the new Nissan Navara AT32 features a bespoke suspension that
increases ride height by 20mm, underbody protection and larger 32-inch off-road
tires.
The combination of the increased ride height and the
bigger tires allow the Navara AT32 to sit 40 mm taller than before. Nissan will also offer a snorkel for improved wading depth and a front
differential locker as options to those who want their Navara ready for
everything off-road related.
The raised suspension means that the new Nissan
Navara AT32 offers a maximum approach angle of 35° (up from 30.4°), while
breakover angle is now 24° (up from 22.2°). The new underbody protection panels
cover the engine, transmission, driveshaft and fuel tank. The most obvious visual difference is of course
Arctic Trucks’ classic wheel arch extensions. The 17-inch alloy wheels are also
from Arctic Trucks.
The most capable Nissan Navara ever will be sold in
the UK through Nissan’s official dealer network with standard equipment that
includes Hill Start Assist, Hill Decent Control, Intelligent Emergency Braking
and Intelligent Around View Monitor, as well as a five-year/100,000-mile
warranty.
It seems that Arctic Trucks is set on tuning every
pickup truck available in Europe into a proper expedition vehicle and with the
factory’s blessings.
