The Perodua Bezza gains a new variant in the form of
the GXtra, which replaces the 1.0 Standard G in the range. Customers are being
offered the Bezza GXtra at an introductory price of RM 35,500 for one with the
manual transmission and RM 37,500 if you prefer an automatic. These prices are
on-the-road without insurance, and includes a five-year/150,000 km warranty.
The GXtra comes with an enhanced kit list, where
side skirts and chrome door handles have been added to the exterior. There’s
also a new Ocean Blue exterior colour available – an option that was previous
reserved for 1.3L variants of the Bezza.
Inside, piano black trim has been applied on the
dashboard and panel surrounding the multimedia system, which itself has been
improved with Bluetooth connectivity. In other areas, the air-con vent
surrounds, steering wheel spokes and gear lever base now gain a satin finish. Rounding things off are chrome door handles to mimic those on the outside.
The rest of the equipment is largely similar to the
1.0 Standard G, including 14-inch alloy wheels, fabric seats, a polyurethane
steering wheel, manual side mirrors, 60:40 split-folding rear seats, reverse
sensors, power windows, dual airbags and ABS with EBD and brake assist. If you
want VSC, you’ll have to go for the higher-spec 1.3 Advance.
Under the bonnet is a 1KR-VE 1.0 litre
three-cylinder petrol engine that continues to serve up 67 hp and 91 Nm. The
mill is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox or four-speed automatic
transmission, with drive going to the front wheels.
