The Renault Koleos is now standard with both AEB and Apple CarPlay as the brand pushes to make its best-selling model even more appealing against newer and, previously, better equipped competitors.

Like other systems, AEB in the Koleos offers a two-stage set-up; the first warns the driver of a potential collision risk while the second stage sees the brakes applied if the driver doesn’t respond to the first warning, or if the system doesn’t determine enough braking force has been applied by the driver.

Renault says the driver is always in control, able to accelerate and override the AEB or yank on the steering wheel to avoid a potential collision, overriding the AEB.
