The brand SWM will enter the country in mid-2018 with the debut model, the SWM SuperDual.

The report states that the company is looking to bring the bikes via CKD route and assemble them at its plant in Ahmednagar. The parent brand, Kinetic Engineering reportedly has overhauled the production capacity at its current plants via investments.

SWM is an Italian two-wheeler manufacturer founded in 1971. The company has 12 two-wheelers on sale in the displacement range of 125 cc to 600 cc, globally. The SWM SuperDual is a 600cc adventure motorcycle, which will be sold by Motoroyale of the Kinetic Group in India. The SWM SuperDual is a middleweight adventure motorcycle that will reportedly have a price tag between INR 5 – 7 lakhs, ex-showroom, Pune.

The SWM SuperDual employs a single cylinder 600cc engine with liquid cooling. The powerplant makes 57.1 PS of power and 53.5 Nm of torque. The engine works in tandem with a 6-speed transmission. Key rivals would include the Kawasaki Versys 650, Benelli TNT 600 GT, and perhaps entry level Triumph Tiger 800 range.
