The Mustang experts from Roush Performance have just
unveiled their 2018 JackHammer, complete with enough grunt to probably give the
impending GT500 a scare. Using the Mustang GT as a base, Roush has outfitted
the JackHammer with an R2650 supercharger that lifts output to an impressive
710 hp and 610 lb-ft of torque.
Roush has outfitted the JackHammer with
adjustable coilovers, Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires, gloss black
wheels and custom badging. The tuned pony car also features a black stripe on
the sides and can be optioned with a stripe that runs over the vehicle’s hood
and roof, leather seating and black quad tailpipes. The customers can
choose between 11 exterior colors.
Pricing for the 2018 JackHammer package starts at US$ 14,765 and all modifications come with a 5-year, 60,000 mile limited
powertrain warranty. Roush says it can fit the package to any Mustang GT in a
matter of hours.
Details concerning the GT500’s engine remain
unclear, but we do know it will come fitted with a 5.2-liter supercharged V8
engine dubbed ‘Predator’. One thing we can be sure of is that it will have in
excess of 700 hp and cost significantly more than Roush’s latest creation.
