Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited has today
launched the popular entry-level sporty Gixxer motorcycle with Anti-lock
Braking System (ABS) feature at prices starting at Rs. 87,250 (ex-showroom, New
Delhi). The company believes ABS option will enhance the overall riding
experience and improve on the value proposition offered to customers. The 2018
Suzuki Gixxer ABS version comes fitted with a front wheel speed sensor to
detect speed of the wheel for better stability and controlled braking force. It
derives power from the same SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance) all-aluminium
four-stroke single-cylinder 154.9 cc BS-IV compliant engine which is good
enough to produce a maximum power output of 14.8 PS at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of
peak torque delivered at 6,000 rpm.
Suzuki Jet cooling system (SJCS) is claimed to
ensure better cooling and result in better power and mileage. The Gixxer ABS
gets a number of features such as AHO Headlight, LED tail lamp, fully digital
speedometer, front and back disc brakes, 41 mm diameter telescopic front forks
and seven-step adjustable rear monoshock suspension. Other important equipment
in the 2018 Suzuki Gixxer ABS are sporty twin exhaust system, three-spoke light
wheel, stepped seat, two-piece rear fender, digital instrumentation with gear
position and rpm indicator, etc. It is made available in three colour choices
namely Metallic Triton Blue/Glass Sparkle Black, Candy Sonoma Red/Metallic
Sonic Silver and Glass Sparkle Black.
With no change in dimensions, the ABS variant
measures an overall length of 2,050 mm, width of 785 mm, height of 1,030 mm and
has a wheelbase of 1,330 mm with 780 mm seat height. It has a ground clearance
of 160 mm and the fuel tank can hold 12 litres. The street sport motorcycles tips
the weighing scale at 136 kilograms and runs on 17-inch tubeless radials.
