The BMW 6-Series GT lineup is growing as the company
has taken the wraps off the new 620d Gran Turismo. Set to go on sale in Germany
in June, the 620d has a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine that
develops 190 PS and 400 Nm of torque.
The engine is
connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission which enables the hatchback
to accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 7.9 seconds before hitting a top
speed of 220 km/h.
The 620d is
notably eco-friendly as the model consumes between 4.8 and 4.9 L/100km (49
to 48 mpg US). The CO2 emissions are also better as the model emits between
127-129 g/km.
BMW hasn’t disclosed pricing information but the
620d will undoubtedly slot beneath the 630d which starts at € 66,900 (US$ 80,002).
The company was also coy on equipment details but the automaker stated all
available suspension systems on the 6-Series Gran Turismo will be offered on
the 620d. This means the model can be equipped with an Adaptive Two-Axle Air
Suspension, Integral Active Steering and the Executive Drive system with Active
Roll Stabilization.
