Located just outside of Nuremberg, Germany is a
small custom workshop with one mantra in mind: “Life’s too short to ride boring
motorcycles.” Needless to say, we’re in complete agreement. Which is why this exciting
iteration on a BMW R80 – dubbed Project #4 – from Elemental Custom Cycles
caught our attention right from the get-go.
The donor here is an ’85 BMW R80 Monolever with a
fully functional 797.5cc boxer twin engine so there was little need to make any
adjustments there. However, the bike was in need of some cosmetic treatment so
the good folk over at ECC figured a 2-in-1 stainless steel exhaust manifold and
under-engine muffler was a good place to start. They also worked to lower the
front fork by 50mm and outfit the rear with a solo YSS shock.
Additionally,
push-button controls complete with a Motogadget M unit up front brings the dash
into the 21st century, while a sleek rear fairing and frame fabricated by ECC
adds a sleek villainous vibe to the project. Kudos to whatever lucky customer
gets their hands on this sled.
