The new model is expected to be positioned as a
cheap alternative to the pickup truck from Nissan. Chinese company Dongfeng
Motor Corporation is going to expand the lineup of pickups in the near future
with a new model.
About it little is known, judging by the
published photos on the Chinese portal Autohome, it is a transfigured version
of the pickup Nissan Navara of the third generation (D23), which, among other
things, is sold in the market of the Celestial Empire. It is also worth noting
that on the basis of this model, pickups Mercedes-Benz X-Class and Renault
Alaskan are created.
Judging by the fact that Dongfeng and Nissan in
China have a joint venture, it can be assumed that the Dongfeng pickup will
borrow not only the chassis from the Japanese colleague, but also the power
plant – a time-tested in-line atmospheric “Q” QR25 with a volume of 2.5 liters
and capacity in 183 horsepower, which is well known to owners of Nissan Altima.
The motor will work with classic mechanical gearboxes for five and
six stages, as well as a seven-speed automatic transmission – just such units
are equipped with Nissan Navara in China. The drive at the pickup truck can be
either front or full.
The Dongfeng pickup will undoubtedly receive an
identical running system, which means that the rear suspension will be
spring-loaded, and the rear brakes will be drum-mounted. On sale, the Dongfeng
pickup should appear already this year at a price of 125,000 to 135,000 yuan
