Swiss customizer Bündnerbike built the world’s most
expensive motorcycle, decorated with 360 diamonds and built-in gasoline clock,
on the basis of the Harley-Davidson Softail Slim S chopper. The cost is 1.8
million Swiss francs (US$ 1.79 million).
The bike is prepared in cooperation with the watch
brand Bucherer and is called the Blue Edition. The project involved eight
people from Bündnerbike and Harley-Davidson who spent a year developing and
2500 hours to build a motorcycle.
The bike has a unique blue color due to the
six-layer coating applied over the silver-plated metal. The technology of
application is kept secret. Some details are gilded, and the gas tank decorates
almost four hundred diamonds, among which there is even a stone for 5.4 carats.
It is in a special removable case, covered with armored glass.
On the other side of the gas tank there is another
similar safe. There are special watches of Carl F. Bucherer brand, specially
prepared for this project. This same case acts as a wunderer, answering for the
winding of the clock.
Earlier it became known that the world’s first
superbike – Vincent Black Lightning – was sold for US$ 929,000. A total
of 30 copies of this motorcycle were produced.
