The Peugeot 508 Wagon is expected to premiere at
October’s Paris Auto Show. The liftback variant of the
eye-catching 508 premiered a couple of months ago at the Geneva Motor Show and
attracted quite a crowd. With the same impressive interior and exterior design
but combined with even greater practicality, the 508 Wagon will have a lot of
things going for it.
From a visual standpoint, most of the liftback’s
styling elements will be carried through to the wagon. As such, the car will
have an identical front fascia but receive an elongated roof and new rear end.
It remains to be seen how sleek the design of the tailgate will be but given
the sedan’s focus on design, it should be quite stylish and may sacrifice some
potential space for improved looks.
In liftback guise, the Peugeot 508 offers 487 liters
of cargo space with the rear seats up. This figure should increase
significantly in wagon form. The same engine options of the existing model
should be offered in the Peugeot 508 Wagon. They’ll probably be
two petrol engines rated at 177 hp and 222 hp as well as three diesels, pumping
out 128 hp, 158 hp and 176 hp respectively. A plug-in hybrid will arrive at a
later date.
