Tamarit Motorcycles is a Spanish custom builder and
aftermarket parts manufacturer that knows a thing or two about executing over
the top Triumph customizations. Whether building for general around-town
riding, or serious touring, the shop is expert at their craft. Tamarit’s 2016
Bonneville T120 build known as ‘Muralla’, for example, is an adventure tourer
beautifully built specifically for one marathon of a ride.
With this particular customer looking to complete
the 30,000-kilometer journey from Alicante, Spain to China along the historic
Silk Road in exactly thirty travel days, Tamarit had their hands full to
transform the bone stock Triumph into a tour ready rig that could survive the
daunting haul. The build started by removing the factory seat in favor of a
proprietary ‘Ibiza’ unit, adding a classic cross-stitched pattern and a shorty
rear fender for a very unique look.
The original exhaust canisters were then
tossed in the bin and replaced by a set of Thor megaphone style mufflers,
giving the bike much needed aggressive appeal to match the rough and rugged
look curated by the skid plates and brush guards added to beef up the tender
spots of the British bomber. Lastly, a rear cargo rack was added to holster the
twin 5-Liter fuel canisters, items necessary for the extended length of the
trip, before the bike was sprayed a matte OD green and fitted with dual purpose
Metzler tires, prepping the bike to feel at home in any condition it might see
on its extended inaugural journey.
