A camouflaged test mule of the Hyundai i20 Active be crossover was spied in South Korea, courtesy Ubin1024. The company seems to be testing a facelifted model, possibly for the Indian market.

The design of the glasshouse, blackened cladding throughout the length and roof rails and basically the entire shape reveals that this a Hyundai i20 Active test mule. It also seems to have a blackened C-pillar, which is another trait of the Hyundai i20 Active. At the rear, the overall shape and the round reflectors lamps and reverse light are same as that of the Hyundai i20 Active. The tail lamps are identical to the India-spec 2018 Hyundai i20.

Hyundai revealed the Euro-spec 2018 i20 Active in April. Akin to that model, the number plate has moved up from the bumper to the tail gate. It gets an updated bumper with new faux skid plate and redesigned tail lamps with LED fixtures as well. Hyundai has introduced a two-tone colour scheme in which the roof is painted in Phantom Black colour.

Currently, the Hyundai i20 Active uses 1.2 L Kappa Petrol and 1.4 L U2 CRDi diesel engines. The petrol engine, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, outputs 83 PS and 11.7 kgm. 90 PS and 22.4 kgm are the power and torque figures, respectively, for the diesel engine that pairs with a 6-speed manual transmission.
