FCA has released more information on the SUV along with images
detailing the new Jeep Renegade Trailhawk. The Renegade facelift gets minor
cosmetic changes and new engines.
Compared to the Limited trim, the Trailhawk gets a
dual tone look, different bumpers, bigger wheels, black anti-glare patch on the
bonner, and Trailhawk badging. In all, there will be four trims to choose from
- Sport, Longitude, Limited, and Trailhawk.
Notable features on offer are Uconnect infotainment
system with either a 5-inch, 7-inch or an 8.4-inch display supporting Apple
CarPlay and Android Auto. Safety features on offer include Lane Sense Departure
Warning-Plus, Intelligent Speed Assist with Traffic Sign Recognition, and
Forward Collision Warning-Plus with Active Emergency Braking.
Jeep has revealed that the Renegade facelift will be
equipped with new 120 hp 1.0 L and 150 hp or 180 hp 1.3 L turbocharged Multiair
III petrol engines. Diesel variant will employ either a 120 hp 1.6 L unit or a
140 hp/170 hp 2.0 L Multijet II engine. The former can be paired with either a
manual or a DDCT (Dry Dual Clutch Transmission), while the latter is available
with a manual gearbox or a 9-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive
and all-wheel drive layouts will be offered. The Jeep Renegade Trailhawk will
have standard 4x4.
FCA has announced that the 2019 Jeep Renegade will
go on sale in Italy in the second half of July. The Renegade will reach the
rest of Europe in September 2018. Markets outside Europe like Russia, the
Middle East, and Africa will have to wait until the end of this year for the
updated Jeep Renegade.
