Buyers on the lookout for the DS7 Crossback now have
a new engine to select in the United Kingdom: a four-cylinder petrol unit
making 225 PS and 300 Nm of torque.
It features several advanced technological features
including a petrol particle filter, a twinscroll turbo, exhaust valve timing,
variable intake, variable valve intake drive, 200bar fuel injection pressure
and stop&start system.
When combined, these features help it “ensure
best-in-class fuel economy”, according to the French automaker, which says that
this version of the DS7 Crossback returns 48.7 UK mpg (5.8 l/100 km / 40.55 US
mpg). It represents a reduced fuel consumption of 6 percent, compared to the
THP 210 mill, with the new engine meeting the Euro 6.2 emission standards. DS
chose the eight-speed automatic gearbox for the unit.
Across Britain, customers can order the PureTech 225
powertrain on the DS7 Crossback Performance Line, Prestige and Ultra Prestige
models. Pricing starts at £ 34,990, or £ 6,940 more than the
entry-level grade called Elegance.
The rest of the lineup includes the BlueHDi 130 PS and 180 PS diesels, along with the plug-in hybrid
version that combines the PureTech 200 PS petrol engine and two
80kW electric motors. The latter has an MSRP of £ 50,000.
