The latest Mitsubishi Outlander is available in
India in only one grade. It comes equipped with a slew of premium features like
LED headlamps with LED DRL, LED front fog lamps, LED rear combination lamps,
electric sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, electric parking brake
with auto hold, 6.1-inch two DIN head unit and Rockford Fosgate acoustic design
premium sound system with four speakers, two tweeters, a woofer and a 710-watt
amplifier. The mid-size SUV is high on safety too, with seven airbags, ABS with
EBD, ASC and HSA all included as standard.
The new Mitsubishi Outlander measures 4,695 mm in
length, 1,810 mm in width and 1,710 mm in height. It has a 2,670 mm wheelbase
and a 190 mm ground clearance. Globally, it is available in 5- and 7-seat
versions. In India, Mitsubishi offers only the 7-seat version.
Powering the three-row SUV is the 2.4-litre MIVEC
petrol engine that produces 167 PS at 6,000 rpm and 222 Nm of torque
at 4,100 rpm. A continuously variable transmission and the Multi Select 4WD
system are standard.
The Mitsubishi Outlander is imported to India as a
Completely Built Unit (CBU). In terms of pricing, it competes with the VW
Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq, Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner, and Isuzu MU-X, all of
which are priced much lower.
