Based on the J200 facelift model, this Land Cruiser is called the KHANN HRS
Sport, and nothing about it is subdued.
This aggressive bodykit is comprised of five
standard items, starting with the intricately chiselled front bumper with
integrated grille, LED daytime running lights and a new rear bumper with
twin-tip carbon-fibre exhaust exits. The vented hood, rear spoiler and huge
forged wheels (available in three designs) are optional.
The upgrade pack only
comes with visual enhancements, so no changes have been made to the mechanical
aspect. In stock form, the Land Cruiser comes with a 4.6 litre
naturally-aspirated V8 that makes 304 hp and 439 Nm, whereas the 4.5 litre
bi-turbo diesel V8 packs 268 hp and 650 Nm. Both engines are mated to a
six-speed automatic transmission with a full time 4×4 drive mechanism.
In the US, the Land Cruiser is fitted with a 5.7
litre naturally-aspirated petrol V8, producing 381 hp and 544 Nm of torque.
This is paired with an eight-speed ECT-i automatic gearbox, also sending power
to all four wheels. All variants come with a torque sensing centre
differential.
The rugged SUV was given a facelift in August 2015,
and it came with the Toyota Safety Sense P active safety package as standard.
It includes pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, radar cruise
control (with brake control), panoramic multi-terrain monitor, lane departure
alert and auto high beam.
There’s also an under-floor view system and a
front-view rotating display, both of which were world firsts at the time. Other
techs include blind spot monitor, rear cross traffic alert and tyre pressure
warning system.
