If there’s anything we enjoy nearly as much as
watching Ken Block do his thing, it’s checking out the cars with which he does
it. And this is his latest. Revealed at the Circuit of the Americas last week is the Focus RS RX
that Block and his new teammate will be driving in select rallycross events
this season.
They’ve been furnished by Ford Performance and
enhanced not by Block’s own Hoonigan Racing Division, but his teammate Steve
Arpin and Loenbro Motorsports. We’d say Block’s just along for the ride, but
he’ll be driving his own, and lending his marketing skills to put the team on the map.
The pair of Foci wear similar liveries by Death Spray Custom, each with the logos of their respective
sponsors. “When I made the decision to return to a handful of rallycross events
this year, I knew partnering with Steve and his team was the right move,”
enthused Block. “Needless to say, I’m very excited about the forward progress
they’ve made and I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel at the race in
Austin July 14th!”
The unveiling at COTA is anything but coincidental.
Both drivers will compete in the Americas Rallycross Championship (ARX) rounds
at the circuit on July 14 and the end of September, when Block will also
contest the US round of the World Rallycross Championship taking place the same
weekend. In between they’ll both be on hand for the ARX round at Trois Rivieres
in French Canada, and Travis Pastrana’s Nitro World Games at the Utah
Motorsports Complex.
