Hero MotoCorp has revealed the prices of its
upcoming flagship, the Xtreme 200R, on its official website. The Hero Xtreme
200R costs INR 88,000 (ex-showroom) in eight North-East Indian states. Hero
dealerships have already started accepting bookings for the Xtreme 200R.
The eight states are Arunachal Pradesh, Assam,
Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Nagaland, and West Bengal. Hero MotoCorp
is still to launch the bike in India officially. That said, the Hero Xtreme
200R debuted publicly at the Auto Expo 2016. The prices are highly competitive
as compared to other 200 cc motorcycles in the market.
Hero MotoCorp has revealed that the Xtreme 200R will
rival 160 cc and 180 cc bikes, in price. It makes much sense considering the
performance of the bike. As a reference, the prices of new TVS Apache RTR 160 4V fall in the
range of INR 84,248 to INR 94,248. (prices are ex-showroom, Arunachal Pradesh),
while the Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 costs Rs 85,786 (ex-showroom). Hero MotoCorp
hasn’t revealed the delivery timeline or availability in other states.
The Hero Xtreme 200R runs on a 199.6 cc, air-cooled,
4-stroke, 2-valve single-cylinder engine that churns out 18.1 bhp of maximum
power at 8,000 rpm and 17.1 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine employs
a 5-speed transmission. A diamond-type chassis underpins the Xtreme 200R while
the bike is shod with 37 mm telescopic front forks with antifriction bush and a
7-step adjustable mono-shock at the rear.
The Hero Xtreme 200R stops with the help of a 276 mm
front disc and a 220 mm rear disc with standard single-channel ABS. The bike
features 17-inch alloy wheels that run on 100-section front and 130-section
rear MRF tires. The Xtreme 200R features a seat height of 795 mm and a ground
clearance of 165 mm. The motorcycle gets a fuel tank capacity of 12.5 litres
while the kerb weight stands at 148 kg.
