The Germans claim that the X-Class offers both
excellent off-roading capabilities and a luxurious interior, along with an open
bed at the rear to haul various cargo.
But how would an even
more upscale model look like? Carlex Design, with a
complete makeover kit for the Mercedes-Benz X-Class inspired by the brand’s
Maybach cars. It costs a whopping € 105,000 (US$ 122,634) for the base version,
which includes the cost of the vehicle.
The
Carlex-tuned X-Class features a front grille and wheels inspired by the Maybach
S650 Coupe, along with a carbon fiber body kit. The latter includes new
bumpers, wheel arches, rear light frames, roof-mounted spoiler and bonnet
cover. Carbon fiber side mirror casings are also part of the package, along
with the teak-covered bed and special Limited Edition emblems and stickers.
Opening the door
reveals a posher cabin with Recaro seats, leather trim on the seats and door
panels, leather and wood inserts in the dashboard and reshaped steering wheel,
Alcantara headliner, and more emblems and laser-engraved motifs.
With its extra bits
fitted by Carlex, this X-Class is named the Yachting Edition – and while you miss
the not-so-subtle lettering on the lower bodywork, you’ll definitely notice
that small yacht it is towing.
