The new Korean pickup truck is
based on the same underpinnings with the Ssanyong Rexton and offers a 1-tonne
payload, 3.5-tonne towing capacity and strong value for money.
The new Musso -Korean for rhino- will also offer a
segment-leading 7-year/150,000-mile warranty to Ssangyong’s UK customers, along
with a refined interior that seats five in comfort.
Power comes from the company’s 2.2-liter diesel
engine that produces 178 hp and 400 Nm of torque. The new
Musso is available with either a six-speed manual or an Aisin six-speed
automatic transmission. Both versions come with a selectable all-wheel drive
system as standard, which features a low-range option as well. Ground clearance
is 215mm.
The interior of Ssangyong’s latest truck claims to
be one of the most well-equipped and roomy in the class; DAB radio and
Bluetooth connectivity is standard to all models while even the entry-level
model gets an eight-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android
Auto. More expensive trim models get a 9.2-inch system with TomTom navigation.
The range is divided between four trim levels at
launch: the base Musso EX, the Musso Rebel, the Musso Saracen and the
limited-edition Musso Rhino.
Pricing starts from £ 19,995 for the EX model,
excluding VAT. The range-topping Musso Rhino will be limited to 100 units and
is offered only with an automatic transmission, featuring 18-inch black alloys,
nappa leather seats, bright bodywork detailing and more. The price for the new
Ssangyong Musso Rhino is set at £ 28,495, excluding VAT.
