With Renault still out testing its facelifted Kadjar
crossover, Carscoops spy photographers have managed to catch a glimpse of the
interior. It seems that the French automaker is sticking with a
horizontal infotainment display for their compact crossover, rather than a
large portrait-style one like on the latest Megane, Koleos and Talisman.
This prototype clearly features a larger infotainment
display than the current Kadjar that takes up some of the space previously
reserved for the climate control buttons, which have also been redesigned. Other than that, the rest of the
cabin appears unchanged, from the steering wheel to the gear lever, air vent
placement or surfaces that feature contrast stitching.
The updated Kadjar should come with new front and
rear bumpers, a slightly bigger grille and possibly restyled headlights and
taillights, although it’s hard to tell with regards to the latter. The
headlights will definitely be new, though, even if they won’t look remarkably
different.
As for the rest of the vehicle, it should look the
same as before, which is by no means a bad thing since it does have quite a few
stylish angles to it. Underneath the hood, Renault will probably continue to utilize their
TCe petrol and dCi diesel engines, mated to either a manual or an X-Tronic CVT
automatic gearbox.
If the facelifted Kadjar is to make it into Renault
dealerships by the end of the year, it’s possible that it will first make an
appearance at the Paris Motor Show this October. Once it goes on sale, it will
immediately resume its fight against the likes of the Nissan Qashqai, Hyundai
Tucson and Peugeot 3008.
