The Suzuki Burgman Street is expected to cost around
INR 76,000 (on the road), according to a report from Financial Express. Suzuki Motorcycle India is geared
up to launch the Burgman Street in India on 19 July, which first debuted at the
Auto Expo 2018. It will be the only maxi-scooter to launch in India post the
Kinetic Blaze. The company has already started the dispatches of Burgman Street
to Suzuki dealerships. Set to be the flagship scooter, it will sit above the
Suzuki Access 125.
Bookings for the Suzuki Burgman Street are underway
at a token amount of INR 5,000. Just like the Suzuki Intruder 150, the Burgman
Street is restricted for the domestic market. The Burgman range is
internationally available the 125-640cc engine displacements. The baby Burgman
borrows its design from the flagship Suzuki Burgman 650, which also was
showcased at the Auto Expo 2018.
The Suzuki Burgman Street features a tall
windscreen, LED headlights, an all-digital instrument cluster, an elongated
comfortable seat and LED taillights. Utility features on the maxi-scooter
include 12V Smartphone charging socket, a multi-function key slot, and generous
under-seat storage space. The Burgman Street gets 90/90 R12 front and 90/100
R10 rear tubeless tires that pairs with 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy
wheels.
The Suzuki Burgman Street uses an Access 125 sourced
124.3 cc, single cylinder motor that is capable of churning out a maximum power
of 8.4 bhp at 6,500 rpm while developing a peak torque of 10.2 Nm at 5,000 rpm.
The engine pairs to a CVT automatic transmission. The maxi-scooter measures
1,884 mm in length, 661 mm in width and a height of 1,163 mm high, while the
ground clearance stands at along with a wheelbase of 1265 mm. The two-wheeler
gets a kerb weight of 110 kg, and a fuel tank capacity of 5.6 litres.
Anchorage on the Burgman Street comes from a front
disc brake and drum brake at the rear, while CBS (combined braking system) is
standard. Suspension setup includes front telescopic forks and a mono-shock at
the back. On the competition, the Suzuki Burgman Street will rival the Honda
Grazia, Aprilia SR 125, and TVS Ntorq 125.
