Some automobiles put form over function, others function over form. Trucks tend towards the latter, but something like the Toyota C-HR is more of a fashion statement, now offered in a new Design edition.

Launched in the UK, the Toyota C-HR Design comes bundled with 18-inch alloys, tinted rear windows, power folding mirrors (heated with integrated turning indicators), keyless entry, push-button ignition, touchscreen infotainment system, ambient lighting, parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, the works. All of which stands to make it more convenient to use, but hardly move the already edgy styling any further – not that it needed any help in that department.

Along with the Design model, Toyota has also upgraded the Excel spec with black leather upholstery and LED taillights. The Dynamic spec gets matte black alloy and a black fabric interior with silver trim, while the Icon version gains an optional Tech Pack that groups an array of convenience and safety features together. There’s also a new Cyan Blue paint available, along with more customization options such as contrasting trim for the side sills, front bumper inserts, tailgate, fog light surrounds and mirror caps.
