Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India has launched
the 2018 Honda Navi in India, priced at INR 44,775 (ex-showroom Delhi). The 2018 Honda Navi features a
stylish new fuel gauge and metal muffler protector, along with body coloured
grab rail, rear view mirrors, headlight cover, and sporty red cushion spring.
The new Navi is available in two new colour schemes - Ranger Green and Ladakh
Brown.
Honda launched the Navi in India at the 2016 Auto
Expo, and the scooter has created a niche with its light-weight form factor,
practicality, and quirky design, but does not have the volumes yet to call it a
success. Honda claims that the Navi has received an overwhelming response in
the Latin-American market.
The 2018 Honda Navi is priced at a premium of INR
1991 for the standard version as compared to the previous model. The
moto-scooter employs a 109.19 cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder, BSIV compliant
engine that is capable of developing a maximum power of 7.83 bhp at 7,000 rpm
along with a peak torque of 8.96 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The motor feeds power to the
rear wheel through a V-Matic transmission, while it can reach a top speed of 81
kph.
As far as dimensions are concerned, the Honda Navi
measures 1805 mm long, 748 mm wide and 1039 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 1286
mm and ground clearance of 156 mm. The Navi offers practicality with its mere
101 kg kerb weight and an accessible seat height of 765 mm. The moto-scooter
features a fuel tank capacity of 3.8-litres. The scooter features telescopic
front forks and a spring loaded hydraulic rear mono-shock.
The Honda Navi features an under-bone type chassis
along with a 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels setup that pair with
90/90 R12 and 90/100 R10 tires, respectively. A 130 mm drum-brake setup handles
braking responsibilities at both the ends. The new 2018 Navi is available with
six colour/ customisation options, whereas it also receives a dedicated Navi
App for Android Smartphones.
