The Acura NSX is already a blistering performance machine but the Japanese automaker has decided to up the ante for 2019, introducing a selection of updates to make the car all the more impressive. First and foremost, Honda/Acura has fitted the 2019 NSX with enlarged front and rear stabiliser bars which increase stiffness by 26 per cent at the front and 19 per cent at the rear. Work has also been done to the rear hubs and control-arm toe link bushings to ensure they are stiffer.

To complement these mechanical changes, a selection of updates have been made to the supercar’s all-wheel drive system, electric power steering, Vehicle Stability Assist system, and active magnetorheological dampers. Honda says these changes result in a more comfortable ride in the car’s softest driving setting as well as a stiffer and more rigid setup for higher speeds and use on the racetrack.

Upgrades have also been made to the 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, including the fitment of upgraded injectors, a new particulate filter, and enhancements to the heat response of the turbocharger. A set of new Continental SportContact tires round out the performance-focused modifications.

On the surface, the most obvious change for the 2019 model year is the inclusion of a Thermal Orange Pearlescent paint color. The chrome finish of the front grille surround is also now colour-matched and gloss black adorns the mesh in the front and rear bumpers.

Interior changes are limited to an optional full red leather trim package and a new Indigo Blue trim if the Alcantara and leather trim combination is selected. In the United States, the 2019 Acura NSX will set buyers back US$ 157,500, a moderate US$ 1500 increase over 2018. However, the higher price is more than justified as the car comes with US$ 4700 worth of optional features as standard.
