The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is a pretty impressive
beat as it features a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that develops 755 hp and 968 Nm of torque. While those are some good
numbers, they pale in comparison to the figures generated by the 2019 Yenko/SC
Stage II Corvette.
Described as “all-new” and “outrageously fast,” the
model is based on the 2019 Corvette Grand Sport and features a custom-built
6.8-liter LT1 V8 engine that produces 1,000 hp. In order to
hit that impressive number, the engine has been bored out and equipped with a
forged steel crankshaft as well as forged aluminum pistons.
Specialty Vehicle Engineering also adds CNC ported
cylinder heads, a larger throttle body, an upgraded fuel injection system and a
high-performance exhaust. The model has also been outfitted with a massive
supercharger and a custom tune.
Styling changes are fairly limited as the car is
decked out in side stripes and Yenko graphics. The model also has “1000 HP
badging,” special wheel caps and four diffuser fins which are painted in Carbon
Flash Metallic.
The modest changes continue in the cabin as drivers
are greeted by individually numbered billet aluminum door sill plates with
“Yenko 1000HP Supercharged” badging. Elsewhere, the company installs sYc logos
on the headrests and door panels as well as a Yenko badge on the steering
wheel. Other changes include an individually numbered plaque on the center
console and Yenko embroidered floor mats.
The car will be available with either a manual or
automatic transmission. When equipped with the latter, the car will be
outfitted with a “heavy-duty transmission upgrade” featuring a 12 month /
12,000 mile (19,312 km) warranty.
Production will be limited to 25 units and the
Yenko/SC Stage II Corvette will be offered as a coupe and convertible. However,
it will be a pretty costly upgrade as Roadshow reports the package starts at US$ 68,995.
