The 2019 X4 made its world debut just 5 months ago
in Geneva, and is only now beginning to arrive in showrooms. Compared to its predecessor, the
new X4 is bigger and more spacious, yet weighs 50 kg less. It’s also
packed full of BMW’s latest gadgetry and boasts a redesigned cabin.
Aesthetically, the 2019 X4 is more muscular, with a
much larger front grille, adaptive LED headlights and sharper taillights with a
3D surface design. Its rear end still sort of reminds us of the Mercedes GLC
Coupe, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
This particular car, on display at BMW’s Abu Dhabi
showroom, is an xDrive30i M Sport model finished in what looks like Sophisto
Grey. It also has a really nice red leather interior with lots of contrast
stitching and wood trim.
Unlike the first X4, this new one has a more driver
focused cabin, with a lower instrument panel and a higher seating position.
There’s also more legroom in the back, a large 10.25-inch touchscreen
infotainment system with gesture and voice-control functions, plus a wide array
of active safety systems.
The X4 xDrive30i is powered by a 2.0-liter
turbocharged four-pot with 252 PS and 350 Nm of torque. It
can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds and maxes out at 240 km/h.
