BMW Japan is sending off the third-generation BMW X5 (F15) with a limited edition model that will be available only in its local market. Based on the xDrive35d M Sport, only 190 units will be offered – 110 Limited Black and 80 Limited White cars.

The names correspond to the paintjob applied on the X5 – Alpine White or Black Sapphire – with the former being priced at 10,920,000 yen and the latter at 11,013,000 yen. Aside from the different exterior colour, both cars are identical in terms of specifications, including the black M Performance kidney grille, 20-inch style 469 M light alloy wheels and adaptive LED headlights.

Moving inside, you’ll find black Dakota leather upholstery, unique aluminium trim, a powered panoramic sunroof, rear seat heating, heads-up display and a Harman Kardon surround sound system. A special badge with a serial number is also added to identify the model’s exclusivity.

Under the bonnet, a 3.0 litre twin-turbo inline-six diesel engine churns out 259 PS and 560 Nm of torque, which is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The diesel-powered SUV will accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and tops out at 230 km/h.
