Ford has used the Woodwood Dream Cruise to unveil a
one-off Mustang Bullitt that features a Kona Blue exterior. Designed to benefit the Juvenile
Diabetes Research Foundation, the model ditches the familiar Dark Highland
Green paint job for a brighter blue exterior. The car has also been equipped
with special wheels and a lightly modified interior that has blue contrast
stitching.
While the changes aren’t very drastic, the car is
being put to good use as it raise funds to fight type 1 diabetes. As part of
this effort, Ford and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation are selling up
to 60,000 raffle tickets for US$ 10 each. The raffle tickets are
currently on sale and can be bought online here. Tickets will be sold until
November 9th and the winner will be selected on November 13th.
While the Mustang doesn’t feature that many special
touches, it includes all the usual Bullitt upgrades. As a result, the car comes
equipped with an active performance exhaust, a limited-slip rear differential
and a Brembo braking system with red calipers.
Power is provided by an upgraded 5.0-liter V8 engine
that produces 480 hp and 568 Nm of torque. It is
connected to a six-speed manual transmission which enables the coupe to hit a
top speed of 262 km/h which is 12 km/h)faster than the
Mustang GT.
This isn’t the first time the Mustang Bullitt has
been used to raise funds for charity as the first model was auctioned off to
benefit the Boys Republic. When bidding end, the car was sold for US$ 300,000.
