Geely
has released official “spyshots” of its forthcoming B-segment SUV, which is
set to see a Chinese market launch in the fourth quarter of this year. The new
model, codenamed SX11, will be the second model to be built on Geely’s new
B-segment Modular Architecture (BMA) after the sedan.
Even with all the camouflage, it’s clear that this
is the same car that was leaked earlier this year, with a sportier look
compared to other models in the Geely stable. At the front, the company’s
signature “expanding cosmos” grille and sweptback headlights have been made
more angular and more assertive, while aggressive air intakes feature
underneath.
Also seen is the prominent front fender bulge that
is another of the brand’s styling cues, along with scalloped flanks and a
distinct C-pillar kink and blacked out D-pillars that give the SX11 a floating
roof look – a design borrowed from the Boyue. We can’t see much of the rear in
the photos, but a sketch provided shows the trapezoidal tail lights, broad
chrome trim, large tailgate spoiler and twin exhausts that we’ve seen in the
leaks.

reported that the SX11 will measure 4,330 mm long, 1,800 mm wide and 1,609 mm
tall, with a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. That puts it between the Vision X3 and
Vision SUV models, and makes it a full size smaller than the C-segment Boyue.
Geely has confirmed that the SX11 will be powered by
a 1.5 litre turbocharged and direct-injected three-cylinder petrol engine,
developed in partnership with Volvo and producing 161 hp and 255 Nm of torque.
It’s expected to get a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission also jointly
developed with the Swedish carmaker, and is quoted to go from zero to 100 km/h
in 7.9 seconds.
