The very first McLaren Senna has been delivered to a
customer in the United States. The owner of this Senna is none other than
mattress king Michael Fux, the proud owner of one of America’s most prolific
supercar and hypercar collections.
Not one to slide under the radar, Fux requested his
Senna to be finished with green carbon fiber body panels, making for an extreme
look and one reminiscent of a particular McLaren P1 also finished in green
carbon. According to McLaren, the Full Visual Carbon Fibre Body, tinted in a
custom emerald green color known as “Fux Green” [chic], is made up of 67 parts,
with the full set taking almost 1,000 hours to produce.
To contrast the carbon, the hypercar has been
adorned with chrome wheels with red center caps. These images also reveal that
the U.S.-spec Senna has two tailpipes exiting out of the decklid rather than
the three tips featured on European-spec Sennas.
Inside, Fux’s latest pride and joy comes complete
with “Fux Green” Tinted Carbon in Gloss Finish, complimented by thin carbon
fiber seats, white leather padding and white leather on the steering wheel.
Green ‘MSO’ logos can also be seen on the headrests.
McLaren will build just 500 examples of the Senna
and due to America’s love of the latest and greatest models from McLaren, it is
very likely the U.S. will prove to be the vehicle’s biggest market.
Powering the Senna is a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter
V8 engine delivering 789 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to the vehicle’s
dry weight of just 1198 kg, the Senna can rocket to 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds and
complete the quarter mile in 9.9 seconds.
While the bodywork of the Senna ensures the car
looks unlike any other vehicle from the British marque, it’s not just for
aesthetics. In fact, the hypercar delivers a massive 800 kg of
downforce at 250 km/h.
